For information pertaining to new or withdrawn evidence and other changes affecting plans of care in the ZynxCare modules during January through March 2013, click here.

General Announcements

  • ZynxCare now comprises 57 modules, 53 patient problems (located within the Patient Problems module), and 255 plans of care (which includes 108 starter plans of care).
  • Below are the changes that have been made at the patient problem level:

    • “Infection – Risk of, Immunocompromised” has been added to the Admission/Discharge venue of the Diabetes/Hyperglycemia module.
    • “ Nutrition Deficit” has been added to the Admission/Discharge venue of the Alcohol Withdrawal module.
    • “Psychosocial Distress” has been replaced by “Anxiety” in the Phase I Rehabilitation, Medical and Phase I Rehabilitation, Surgical venues of the Rehabilitation – Cardiac module.
    • “Standards of Care – Adult, Continuous” has been removed from the Standards of Care module.

New ZynxCare Modules

  • 3 modules have been added during January through March 2013:

    • Eating Disorders
    • Rehabilitation – Pulmonary
    • Transition of Care

  • 10 plans of care have been added during January through March 2013:

Clinical Highlights

  • Critical Care Management – Adult

    • Due to the addition of a guideline on the management of pain, agitation, and delirium in adult patients in the ICU from the American College of Critical Care Medicine/Society of Critical Care Medicine/American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the following activity has been added to the plan of care:

      • Early ambulation promotion

  • Depression

    • Due to the addition of new evidence on Internet-based therapy in depression, the following activity has been added to the plan of care:

      • Education, self-help

  • Sepsis – Adult, Sepsis – Neonatal, and Sepsis – Pediatric
    • Due to the update of a guideline on the management of severe sepsis and septic shock from the Society of Critical Care Medicine/European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, the following activities have been added to the plan of care:

      • Education, care goals
      • Education, prognosis
